As Idahoans, we delight in all that our state has to offer, including our beautiful and bountiful natural resources and land. President Roosevelt was entirely correct when he said that we must be careful with what we do with our environment as it will last far beyond our life spans and become part of what we leave for our children and future generations.
I am proud to support legislation that protects our environment for future generations, while respecting the rights of property owners and balancing the needs of the community. I firmly believe that conservation and progress do not need to be at odds. While in congress I have supported legislation to preserve endangered species, solve land usage issues in Idaho and much more.
I have been honored to receive the following awards for my work on environment and land use issues:
* Champion of Property Rights, awarded by the League of Private Property Voters
* Legislator of the Year, awarded by the Washington Metro Chapter of the Safari Club International
* Water Statesman of the Year, awarded by the Idaho Water Users Association
* Ground Water Protector Award, awarded by the National Ground water Association
* Federal Representative Conservation Achievement Award, awarded by Ducks Unlimited.
