Huizenga Statement on Michigan August Unemployment Rate

Statement

Date: Sept. 16, 2010
Location: Zeeland, MI

U.S. Representative-candidate Bill Huizenga (R-Zeeland) issued the following statement after the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth announced that the unemployment rate in Michigan remains at 13.1 percent:

"Governments at all levels need to reduce the burden placed on job creators. We should be talking about tax relief right now and not about tax increases that will harm small businesses and working families. Tax increases and government mandates only create further uncertainty and fewer jobs."

Huizenga is the Republican candidate for the Second Congressional District of Michigan and has been endorsed by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business.
