I was honored to lead the Pledge of Allegiance as we remembered those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and the men and women in our military who have since been overseas keeping our country safe from another attack. Nine years ago we were reminded of the evil that exists in this world, and that it is determined to destroy our way of life and the freedoms we enjoy. Today we should all be thankful for those who fought valiantly on that fateful day to prevent more deaths from occurring, as well as the first responders who saved countless numbers of life. Hug the necks of those you love today, and say a prayer for those protecting us and that God may continue to bless our great nation.
I am thankful to have been a part of the "Faith and Freedom Conference & Strategy Briefing". We must continue to stand up for the moral, economic and strong national defense values which have made this country great, and the Faith and Freedom Coalition is doing just that.
Other conservative leaders participating in this weekend's conference included Newt Gingrich, Governor Bob McDonnell, Tony Perkins, and Karl Rove.
The Faith and Freedom Coalition "is committed to educating, equipping, and mobilizing people of faith and like-minded individuals to be effective citizens. Together [they] will influence public policy and enact legislation that strengthens families, promotes time-honored values, protects the dignity of life and marriage, lowers the tax burden on small business and families, and requires government to tighten its belt and live within its means."
