U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, today issued the following statement regarding the Small Business Lending Act:
"American small businesses, the backbone of our economy and the key to emerging from this downturn, deserve all the help they can get, but today's effort is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
"Democrats hope that $12 billion in temporary tax breaks will make small businesses forget about the $300 billion permanent tax increases they face at the beginning of 2011. This is just the type of uncertainty that is keeping job creators on the sidelines and millions of Americans in the unemployment line."
