Marco Rubio Comments On Disappointing Florida Jobs Report

Statement

U.S. Senate Republican nominee Marco Rubio issued the following statement regarding today's Agency for Workforce Innovation report showing that the unemployment rate in Florida has increased from 11.5 percent to 11.7 percent:

"Today's jobs report is another blow to over one million Floridians who are looking for any glimmer of hope that they will soon find work. As evidence of Washington's failure continues to mount, I grow increasingly confident that what our state and nation need are leaders who will go to Washington, stand up to its big spending culture and offer a clear alternative. In Florida's Senate race, I'm the only candidate offering a clear alternative to the Washington agenda of higher taxes, more debt and bigger government that has failed to put people back to work. In a few short hours, that will be clearly evident during my first debate with Charlie Crist and Kendrick Meek on Univision.

"It's clear Washington politicians refuse to listen to America's business men and women, who are worried about the crippling effect of more debt, higher taxes, and anti-growth policies like cap-and-trade energy taxes and card check. If they stopped and listened to the real job creators in America, they would quickly learn that the reason there's a reluctance to invest in their businesses and create new jobs is because the policies coming out of Washington today are crippling the free enterprise system in America. The American people are running out of patience, and it's clear those in charge need to be run out of Washington for leaving us with nothing but more debt."
