Reining in Washington Spending

Statement

President Obama recently proposed new stimulus plans. I will not support additional spending to stimulate the economy. A public-private partnership that invests in our infrastructure is a good idea but new transportation projects should be fully paid for, not add a single dime to the deficit and paid for with unused Recovery Act dollars.

I will support the research tax credit, clean energy tax credits, and tax incentives to purchase new equipment, because they will spur investment and job creation in Colorado, without more government spending.

Colorado families and small businesses are tightening their belts, and Washington must do the same and make hard choices to pay down the debt.
