After Voting for Trillion Dollar Deficits, National Energy Tax, $862 Billion Stimulus and Obamacare, Mark Schauer today says:
"I'm not going to do anything to hurt our economy at this very critical time."
Yesterday, Mark Schauer released a TV ad in which he claimed to have voted against bailing out Wall Street. Factcheck.org called Schauer's claim "more bailout baloney" and Brad Flory of the Jackson Citizen Patriot called it "typical political crap," because Mark Schauer was not in Congress during the Wall Street bailout vote. Today, Mark Schauer made an equally ludicrous claim, saying, "I'm not going to do anything to hurt our economy at this very critical time."
During his first term in Congress, Mark Schauer has voted for:
· House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's budget that increased the national debt by trillions;
· The national energy tax known as "cap and trade,' which would destroy Michigan jobs and increase energy costs;
· The Obama-Pelosi $862 billion stimulus that wasted money on socially conscious puppet shows, fossil research in Argentina, and a study on the division of labor in ant colonies;
· The Obama-Pelosi government takeover of health care that raises taxes.
In the Michigan Senate, Mark Schauer:
· Voted for Governor Granholm's massive tax increases;
· Introduced a bill to raise the income tax by 18%.
"We will see how good of shape Mark Schauer is in, as he will clearly spend the next two months sprinting full speed away from his record of raising taxes, increasing the national debt by trillions and destroying Michigan jobs. Why is Mark Schauer so afraid to simply run on his record of voting for trillion dollar deficits, a national energy tax, the wasteful stimulus, and Obamacare?" asked Tim Walberg.
