Kirkpatrick Supports Group Leading the Boycott of Arizona

Press Release

Location: Prescott, AZ
Issues: Legal Immigration

Small businessman and Republican congressional candidate, Dr. Paul Gosar, calls on Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick to refuse the support of the group leading the charge to boycott Arizona and hurt small business owners in our state.

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the union who has been the leading force behind national efforts to boycott Arizona, has endorsed Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick. SEIU has joined with the National Council of La Raza and the American Civil Liberties Union in their lawsuit against Arizona and SB1070.

"Liberal Democrats like Ann Kirkpatrick are embracing the support of SEIU, the very union that is leading the charge to hurt Arizona's economy and oppose SB1070," said Dr. Paul Gosar. "Ann Kirkpatrick is standing with SEIU, whose members are President Obama's liberal foot soldiers, over the small business owners in Congressional District One. I call on her to reject the support of SEIU and their opposition to securing our borders."

Ann Kirkpatrick has accepted $10,000 in campaign contributions from SEIU in the last year. SEIU is most known for its radical liberal agenda and has poured over $1 million into opposing other attempts at immigration reform like Proposition 200, which would require identification for public benefits. SEIU also attempted to unionize City of Flagstaff workers but was rejected by the Flagstaff City Council.

"Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick has a clear choice. Stand with President Obama and SEIU, or stand with the hard working men and women in Arizona," said Dr. Gosar. "Ann, this is a decision you can't run away from like you did to your constituents in Holbrook."

To highlight the connection between Ann Kirkpatrick and SEIU, the Gosar for Congress Campaign launched www.TheRealKirkpatrick.com.
