Statement
I am truly humbled by your incredible support throughout the campaign. Because of you, we were able to finish strong in FIRST place with 33% of the vote. Wow, thank you! But, Oklahoma election rules require that the winner of the primary must have over 50% to advance to the general election. So, it is time to reload for the "runoff" August 24. Please mark this date on your calendar.
I would love to have your help again. Would you please reach out to any friends, neighbors or co-workers who voted for Mike Thompson, Johnny Roy, Harry Johnson, Rick Flanigan or Shane Jett? The greatest challenge for the runoff is the short time period; we only have 27 days to win over all those voters. While everyone is still talking about the election, would you please ask them to consider voting for James Lankford?
I believe that this election will come down to a choice between two people who are passionate about our country. In my opinion, we were able to come out on top of a crowded field of established political candidates because of our great volunteers and donors who share the same traditional values and the same commitment to solutions over political platitudes. We all believe that we should lower and simplify the taxes, spend less federal money, secure our border without amnesty, defeat Muslim extremist terrorists and re-establish the Constitution as the foundation how we govern. We believe in the traditional family and the lessons of our Founding Fathers. We also believe that we can't change the status quo in Washington by sending the status quo to Washington!
I am grateful beyond words for your time, your vote and your financial support and I am committed to serving you and our state in the United States Congress. Thank you.
