Claudia Kauffman has successfully fought for transportation funding in South King County. Last year she won funding for improvements on SR 516 in Covington. She also won funding to look at providing commuter rail service between Black Diamond, Maple Valley, Covington, and the Auburn Sounder station on existing rail. This year she won funding to examine improvements needed on SR 516 between SR 167 and Maple Valley and a market feasibility study on placing new Amtrak stops in South King and North Pierce Counties.
