Capito Announces Job Fair On Thurs, Sept. 9th At The University Of Charleston

Press Release

Date: Aug. 13, 2010

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R.W.-Va., will host a Job Fair on September 9, 2010 at the University of Charleston, 2300 MacCorkle Ave. SE. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. Participation is free and no RSVP is required.

Job seekers are invited to come and connect with employers that are hiring or plan to hire in the near future. Capito expects over 50 businesses from various industries to attend. Career counselors will also be on hand to review resumes and give advice on how to prepare for a job interview.

"All of us have been affected in some way by the recent economic downturn, and many of us know a friend or family member who has lost a job. The purpose of this job fair is to connect job seekers with job creators in hopes that we can get West Virginians working again. Given the competiveness of the job market, I think it's important to make sure applicants are as prepared as possible. That's why we're providing free advice on resume writing and interviewing skills," stated Capito, a former career counselor.

Job seekers are encouraged to arrive early. All participants will be required to register before entering the ballroom.
