Issue Position

Lisa Brown has suggested an income tax. Other Senators want a sales tax increase, or higher business taxes. Taxes on cars and taxes on airplanes are being debated. These are absurd proposals and nothing but weak leadership. Now the Legislature has voted through a suspension of Initiative 960, which had required a supermajority to increase taxes. We don't need more taxes; we need to reduce spending.

My opponent voted for hundreds of millions of dollars in "fee" increases in 2008. It was wrong and I would have voted no. I will oppose tax increases and work hard to reduce state spending.
