I support legislation that requires employers to allow parents up to 8 hours of unpaid leave each year to attend activities at their children's schools. We need to maintain the Hope Scholarship for all families and expand the program to include post high school vocational training and job retraining for adults.
Improve retirement benefits -- to give ALL public school employees the option to join the TRS
Improve student achievement
Class size reduction
Clerical support for teachers & paraprofessionals for students
Decrease the drop out rate
School prevention programs (physical/verbal assault in schools)
