Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Assistant to the Speaker, issued the following statement condemning GOP Obstruction of the Small Business Tax Relief Act of 2010:

"Today, the House voted on a bill that was a clear win for jobs in America. The Small Business Tax Relief Act of 2010 would provide relief from excessive red tape and reporting requirements for small businesses and close tax loopholes in current law that encourage U.S. multinationals to ship American jobs overseas. But when Republicans were faced with the question of whether to keep jobs in America or reward those who outsource American jobs, they once again supported big corporate special interests over American workers. By defeating this legislation, Washington Republicans sent a clear message that they would rather help large corporate special interests at the expense of creating jobs and supporting small businesses."
