Today, Rep. Bill Foster (IL-14) released the following statement after the United States Postal Office notified him that the USPS has decided to consolidate mail processing operations at the Fox Valley Processing & Distribution Center in Aurora with those of the Bedford Park Processing & Distribution Center in Bedford Park.

"I am deeply disappointed by the decision of the United States Postal Services to shift jobs and processing activities from the Fox Valley Processing & Distribution Center in Aurora to a facility in Bedford Park. I believe this decision was done without a fully transparent and accurate accounting of what savings might be achieved by the postal service. While it appears that there will not be any net loss of jobs from this action, I don't believe the USPS took into account how this decision might adversely affect the Aurora community."
