Section 9 of the United States Constitution states: "The Migration or Importation of Such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a Tax or duty may be imposed on such Importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each person."

In simple terms, our Founders actually put a price tag on coming to this country: $10 per person. Obviously, they believed there was value to being able to live here. Sadly, these days, we're not to ask anything of our immigrants-including that they abide by our laws.

What Arizona did with its immigration law is state that America has a right to decide who enters the country legally and who enters illegally. The Arizona law mirrors federal law, which requires legal residents to carry "at all times" documentation that proves their status.

While the people attacking Arizona generally don't have a positive view of America, a recent poll indicated 73% of American citizens support the Arizona law.

I stand with the 73% and fully support enforcing immigration laws.
