Issue Position

I will restore local control to local education. There is too much money being wasted at the federal level for education. Why are we sending our tax dollars to Washington only to have them send a portion back to fund our local education? They certainly aren't sending it all back, and why not? Those are our tax dollars for our local students' education. I believe we're competent enough to manage our education budget & decisions locally.

Additionally, since the government has taken over so much of our educational system, we now have several generations of students who have no knowledge of the rich heritage of this country. They don't know much about our Founding Fathers, they aren't familiar with the Constitution, and the Pledge of Allegiance has been altered to keep people from being offended.

We can do better.
