Issue Position

My views regarding abortion are consistent with the Catholic Church. Life begins at conception. With all due respect, abortion is simply wrong. However, I do not condemn those who have undergone such a procedure, but rather, I have compassion for them. Women are traumatized by the abortions they have had, I believe, for the rest of their lives. Also, any woman who has suffered a miscarriage is terribly grieved, and knows that she lost her baby, her child. Thus, I simply believe it is wrong and would vote to oppose legislation supporting abortion.

I would also oppose legislation which supports using embryonic stem cells for research or other purposes. It is not appropriate for us to decide to sacrifice one life for another.
