We definitely need health care reform. Doctors should be making the decisions regarding what treatment is necessary. That is the reason they went to medical school for for many, many years. The insurance companies should have no say in what treatment is appropriate for people. A claims adjuster should not be able to make a decision denying treatment that has been ordered by a doctor. A claims adjuster has no medical training, and, has been given incentives to deny claims, even valid claims. Further, premiums are too high. Vastly too many people are without medical insurance. We also need to eliminate the pre-existing condition exclusions. People should also be informed beforehand, how much things are going to cost. Also, health insurance companies must not be exempted from the anti-trust laws. Our prior legislators have betrayed the public in this regard, in voting to allow health insurance companies to be exempt from the anti-trust laws. Such laws wrongfully reduced competition and are at least part to be blamed for the problems that now exist. It also appears that there should be some sort of public option. However, we cannot eliminate the private sector. We do not want the government running the Mayo Clinic. It also appears that the plan currently proposed goes too far. I welcome your suggestions.
