Issue Position: Why I am Running

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2010

I have five primary reasons for running for office. Their names are Garrett, Adrian, Alli, Will, and Sieger. These are the names of my five children. I'm not satisfied with the world they're inheriting, and I am adamant about cleaning up the mess that has been created. I watched most of the last financial crisis, not as a legislator, but as a businessman, and I was not satisfied with the manner in which we dealt with the situation. I couldn't look at my children and say, "Daddy decided to sit this one out. Daddy decided that he had already served his time." We are at a cross roads in this country, and I have a unique set of experiences to lead and participate in the movement that will maintain our country's championed history of success. There are candidates running for this seat who are business owners. There are candidates in this race who have experience in legislation. I'm the only one who has done both. I know what business leaders need and how to get the job done in the legislature. For the most part, experience is what sets apart the republican candidates in this race, and I am the only candidate in this race with a combination of experiences in both business and politics.
