9/11 Commission Report's Recommendations Will Be 'Carefully Considered'
Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Praises President Bush for His Strong Efforts to Defeat Terrorism

WASHINGTON-Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) today released the following comment regarding the 9/11 Commission's report:

"Under the leadership of President Bush, we have made tremendous achievements in fighting the War on Terror," Diaz-Balart said. "Every day we are not attacked is a credit to President Bush, our military, intelligence and law enforcement agencies. Every hour of every day, these blood-thirsty terrorists are trying to kill us."

"I welcome constructive advice on how our intelligence community can improve information-gathering and communicate it more effectively. The 9/11 Commission's report includes recommendations that the President and Congress will carefully consider as we continue to protect this country from evil threats.

"Cutbacks in funding and personnel during the mid-1990s hurt our intelligence capabilities. Shockingly, John Kerry wanted to slash intelligence funding even more, which would have decimated our intelligence agencies and left us much more vulnerable to many more attacks.
