Today, Rep. Bill Foster (IL-14) released the following statement after the Senate passed H.R. 4173, the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
"In the wake of a financial crisis that has cost eight million jobs and has cost American families more than $17.5 trillion in net worth, there is no higher priority than putting in place common-sense rules of the road to prevent this sort of crisis from happening again. I congratulate the Senate -- both for their passage of this bill and the collaborative manner in which they worked in the Conference Committee to forge a workable compromise between our ideas in the House and those in the Senate."
