The most important responsibility that our elected leaders have right now is restoring our economy. The plant closings and lost jobs that have hit our community are threatening our families today and threatening our kids' prospects for tomorrow.

* Continue to invest in tomorrow's renewable energy technology to create good-paying jobs today.

* Impose fines on banks that let foreclosed properties fall into disrepair.

* Prohibit employers from using credit histories to disqualify job applicants.

* Support child care subsidies for low-wage working families.

* Provide tax relief for manufactured home owners.
