Lofgren Statement on the Passage of Financial Reform

Statement

Date: June 30, 2010
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Representative Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose) released the following statement in response to the House's vote to pass The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act conference report.

The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act sets the stage for regulatory protection for consumers and tax payers. After years of Republican led deregulation, our economy lost 8 million jobs and $17 trillion in retirement savings and net worth. This legislation is a step forward in reining in the most egregious practices and loopholes that brought the world economy to its knees.
