Issue Position

An "inalienable right"…what does this refer to? The Federal, and State Bills of Rights both acknowledge that all Hoosiers are endowed (equipped with) inalienable rights. These rights are endowed by the CREATOR. These rights are inalienable because no man has the power or authority to rescind in any way a liberty graciously bestowed on humanity by Divinity.

Section 2 of Article 1 of the Indiana Constitution states,

"All people shall be secured in the natural right to worship ALMIGHTY GOD, according to the dictates of their own consciences."

Section 3 goes on to say that no law shall in any way control the free exercise and enjoyment of religious opinions, or interfere with the rights of conscience. When Federal judges today attempt to regulate this inalienable right they have shamelessly overstepped their jurisdiction.

I will defend every Hoosiers' right to choose how we express our personal faith in God. I will defend the Constitution of our State. I will also preserve your right to not worship if that violates your conscience or consent.
