Investment in Education: We must investing in our children on the front end of education rather than the current back end of the criminal system. Recently we fell from 49th to 50th out of 50 states in graduation rates. In some schools only 46% of our 9th graders graduate high school. We must restore the learning environment, hope and confidence in public education. We must restore QBE Funding, compete for federal funding, allow teacher creativity/flexibiity, improve teacher pay, examine school efficiency audits and education accountability. I propose an Education Summit with all stakeholders re-examining success models, including school uniforms, longer school days, incentives for on time graduation and post secondary education and training.
