Issue Position

Advance an Economic Stimulus Plan for Jobs: Economic development is vital for the growth and stability of our communities. I propose a Georgia Economic Stimulus Plan that invests in infrastructure, alternative energy and technology with a focus on jobs creation able to compete in the global village. With the next rounds of federal stimulus funds, we can prepare Georgia for high speed rail from Tennessee to Savannah to open our ports to the world as the third fastest growing port in preparation for the opening of the Panama Canal in 2014. We must build reservoirs, solar, biomass and other facilities that take advantage of technology and innovation in partnership with our university and intellectual capital.
