Issue Position

I believe a successful education system is one where every student has the opportunity to learn and a chance to prosper in life.

* College should be more affordable and accessible. Student loan debt is quickly swallowing up lives and dreams.
* We should support, not vilify, hard-working teachers. I support the expansion of Teach for America, which recruits and trains recent college graduates to teach in underprivileged areas.
* Tuition repayment programs, coupled with post-grad community service, should be encouraged as a path to increase youth public service and make higher education more affordable.
* Technical schools and career education programs should receive better funding, providing resources for students and apprentices learning a trade.
