Issue Position

The BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico illustrates how dangerous off-shore drilling is to our environment and our livelihoods. We must decrease our dependence on foreign oil, but we should only consider low-risk options, such as biofuel, solar and wind power. An American strategy to create and implement green solutions to our energy crisis can protect our air, water and land while also creating jobs, reducing energy costs and eventually driving our economy.
