Issue Position

In Congress, my priority will be on creating jobs and new opportunities for people to help themselves. For example, new businesses can earn payroll tax credits for hiring new employees during their first year of operation. Small business employers should also receive incentives to hire and to rehire workers presently on unemployment. Congress can do more to encourage entrepreneurs to lead the economic recovery.

For too long, Wall Street and big banks have been bailed out while we ordinary Americans lose our jobs or struggle to maintain a minimal lifestyle. I will call for an end to tax loopholes for companies that ship jobs overseas and fight for trade deals that protect American jobs and increase our exports. It's time Congress was truly serious about putting hardworking Americans back to work.
