Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today released the following statement regarding the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) decision to delay a decision on increasing the amount of ethanol allowed to be blended with gasoline.
"I'm disappointed in today's announcement. The EPA has delayed its decision on E15 once before, and our ethanol industry shouldn't have to continue to be restricted from development. The use of E-15 will help diversify our nation's fuel supply in an era of global volatility and high demand for energy.
"We've been down this road before, and I am frustrated the Administration continues to drag this process on. Kicking the can does nothing to promote Nebraska-based energy, which is key to American energy independence."
