Statement of Governor Warner as United States moves to "high" terror alert status

Governor Mark R. Warner issued the following statement today about the elevated terror status across the nation.

"We are working closely with our partners in federal and local law enforcement and emergency responders following the Homeland Security Department's decision to elevate the national terror alert. I urge all Virginians to assist law enforcement by maintaining a heightened sense of awareness, and to immediately report any suspicious activity. We take the warning seriously and will closely monitor this situation."
