Some Members of Congress are eager to hike taxes to support government spending sprees at the expense of credit to private enterprise. Every dollar taxed is a dollar diverted from businesses and households. At current tax rates, the government is taking our paychecks and salaries until Wednesday or Thursday of every work week. Taxes should be made fairer and simpler. Hard work should be rewarded, and indolence discouraged.
