Cantwell Issues Statement on Concerns About Unequal Care for National Guard, Reservists

Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell released the following statement on complaints that members of the National Guard and Reserve were receiving second-class treatment at Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.

"Members of the National Guard and Reserve play an integral role in our national defense, often serving alongside our active-duty troops in dangerous front-line assignments. These brave men and women, and their families, make great sacrifices in service of our country. They deserve the same respect and high quality of medical care as active-duty soldiers. The Pentagon should conduct an immediate and thorough investigation of these allegations and end any policies, official or otherwise, that condone one level of care for our active-duty service members, and another for members of the National Guard and Reserve."
