SUPREME COURT: Senator Murray Meets with Supreme Court Justice Nominee Elena Kagan

Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), met with U.S. Solicitor General ElenMeeting with Supreme Court Justice Nominee Elena Kagana Kagan to discuss her nomination to the Supreme Court.

"Solicitor General Elena Kagan has a strong legal background both inside and outside of government and is a highly qualified choice for the Supreme Court," Senator Murray said after the meeting. "We discussed the need to ensure that the voices of average families are represented on the Supreme Court. Solicitor General Kagan struck me as thoughtful and fair-minded in her approach. I will be following her confirmation hearings closely and look forward to a swift and respectful discussion of her qualifications and expertise."
