Issue Position

American is one of the few nations to limit access to supplies of domestic oil and natural gas. Not only would domestic oil drilling ease our energy needs it would provide some 160,000 jobs over the next 20 years. Modern nuclear energy is safe, effective, affordable and non-polluting. Lawmakers should ease licensing standards to encourage production while ensuring strong safety standards.
