Our Federal Government taxes too much, spends too much, and borrows too much from other countries. It is time to do more than talk about ending the era of big government; it is time to actually end it.

Every dollar that our government spends comes out of the pockets of hardworking families across America, including those right here in the 3rd District. We need leaders in Washington who are more interested in the people's interest than the special interests.

Congress has let down the American people in regards to spending. The greatest example was the Stimulus bill that spent over $787 billion of money borrowed from China. If we had spent one million dollars a day since Jesus Christ was born, we still wouldn't equal the ridiculous spending found in that one bill. And after one year, not only has the bill not worked, our economy has actually gotten worse and the tab is left with our children and grandchildren.

As a Congressman, Mike Kelly will fight to pass a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution, so that the Federal Government has to begin to balance its books each year, just like we need to do at home.

He will also fight to cut wasteful spending in government. He'll work with leaders in Congress like Representative Mike Pence and Representative Paul Ryan to root out wasteful pork barrel spending and earmarks.
