Economic development is the lifeblood of our communities. As a business owner and a member of my local Chamber of Commerce, I know what it takes to create jobs because I've done it. Nothing is more important to South Texas families than the ability to provide for one's family.
As State Representative, I'll fight to:
* Increase funding for the Irma Rangel School of Pharmacy and the Regional Academic Health Centers in Cameron County to ensure South Texas gets our share of the growing number of jobs in health care.
* Support our engineering programs to position South Texas for jobs in innovation and research.
* Fight to advance I-69 to develop increased economic highways along the NAFTA highway.
* Strengthen teacher-training programs as nine of the top 25 fastest growing jobs in the state are in education.
