Washington, D.C. - Today U.S. Representative John Carter (TX-31) led the House floor debate in honoring George Herbert Walker Bush on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
"It is with this resolution that we honor President Bush on his birthday and remember that the majority of his life has been spent serving our nation." Carter continued by saying, "He is best known for working to inspire a "kinder, gentler America" at home and leading the nation to free Kuwait overseas while serving as President. However, we can not
forget that he has also served this nation as a member of the Armed Forces, CIA Director and Vice President."
