Boozman Joins Group Focusing On Putting Americans Back To Work
Members of Congress today announced the Reclaim American Jobs Caucus, a new caucus that will focus on putting millions of Americans back to work by enforcing our current immigration laws, encouraging employers to use E-Verify worksite enforcement and securing our borders.
In a press conference, U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) said 15 million Americans are unemployed while an estimated 8 million illegal immigrants have jobs and American workers must be given an advantage over illegal immigrants in the workplace.
"I understand many industries in America rely heavily on guest workers, however I cannot support a guest worker program that rewards illegal aliens with blanket amnesty while ignoring the needs of American workers," Boozman said. "As nationwide unemployment rates hover around 10 percent, we must take steps to provide hardworking Americans with job opportunities to provide for their families."
The bi-partisan group of 40 members will work to highlight the link between illegal immigration and record unemployment in the United States.
