Congressman Jerry Moran today issued the following statement after the announcement by Northrop Grumman that it will not submit a bid for the U.S. Air Force tanker replacement program.
"Now that Northrop Grumman, and likely their partner EADS, have decided they cannot compete against a better valued aircraft produced by Boeing, today we are closer to the Pentagon awarding the contract to Boeing. Our troops and our country cannot afford another decade of delay in replacing the Eisenhower-era fleet. Kansas workers stand ready to support our men and women in uniform with the best tanker."
