Rep. Boozman Praises President Bush's State of the Union Address

Congressman says President Bush has bold vision

Representative John Boozman (R-AR) issued the following statement tonight after President Bush's State of the Union speech:

"President Bush has once again risen to the challenges that face our nation. His vision can be described as nothing less than bold."

"Leadership means making tough choices and time and time again, this president has done just that. He has the resolve to stand by what he believes is right and see his decisions through until the end."

"Last year, the President made promises to the American people that he would actively protect the country from terrorism, create jobs to rebuild the economy and add a prescription drug benefit to Medicare. He followed through on these promises and I believe he will deliver on the ones he made tonight."

"While the economy continues to recover, the President understands that work remains. He knows that we must find ways to create and sustain jobs in our changing economy and I look forward to working with him to make that happen."

"As a doctor, I was also very pleased to hear President Bush's ideas on healthcare. I share his belief that we must act to curb rising healthcare costs, without forcing people into a one-size-fits-all government program. My colleagues and I will make this a top priority as Congress reconvenes this week."

"We live a time of enormous challenges. America has never backed down from such challenges and never abandoned our values. We are fortunate to have a president that embodies this spirit during these times of great changes."
