Boozman: Administration's Health Proposal "More oOf The Same'
U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today issued the following statement on President Obama's health care reform proposal:
"President Obama had an opportunity to start over and craft legislation that provides access to quality and affordable health care without big government intrusion. Unfortunately, his proposal is more of the same. The president's ideas for health care reform is a slightly retooled version of the Senate bill that still cuts Medicare Advantage, still levies mandates on individuals and employers and still puts Washington in charge of defining "quality' health care. If President Obama truly wants effective health care reform, then he should be willing to craft new text, not build off of legislation the American people have already opposed.
"The American people have asked for new ideas that keep costs down. Arkansans have expressed their outrage over both the House and Senate health care reform bills. Sadly, it seems like the Administration would rather tell us what kind of health care we can have rather than listen to what we really want and need."
