Wyden Statement on the State of the Union Address

U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) issued the following statement in response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address:

"Earlier this month Oregonians told me -- at 20 town hall meetings -- that in these tough times, they want a transparent, principled government that gets results. President Obama laid out a vision for that government tonight. He put the focus where it belongs on fixing the economy and creating good paying jobs and I was particularly pleased to hear him reaffirm his commitment to passing health reform. Fixing the economy and fixing health care are two sides of the same coin and Americans can't afford for Congress to abandon that effort. Bringing people together to fix the nation's most pressing problems has never been easy, but it is the job we were sent here to do and it's time to deliver."
