Oregon's Senator Jeff Merkley issued the following statement on last night's earthquake in Haiti:
"Like all Americans, I was shocked to see the images of devastation in Haiti following last night's cataclysmic disaster. Haiti has suffered so much as a nation and now must confront untold loss. Today, Mary and I are making a donation to Mercy Corps to help in relief efforts. I know that many Oregonians will join me. Every donation of any kind will make a difference to the victims.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti."
