Gov. Rounds Holiday Reminder: Be Responsible

As the holiday season quickly approaches us, it's easy to get rushed, but Gov. Mike Rounds is asking South Dakotans to be responsible when traveling.

"This time of year is filled with family and friends enjoying their time together. It's also a time of celebration," said Gov. Rounds. "Please remember, if you plan to celebrate, make arrangements for a designated driver. A little planning will keep you and your family safe."

Gov. Rounds is reminding motorists of the following travel safety tips:
· Always wear your seatbelt. Encourage everyone in the vehicle to buckle up as well.
· If you're going to drink, find a sober driver.
· Travel with a winter weather survival kit.

· Change travel plans as weather and road conditions warrant.
· Heed the travel advisories issued by law enforcement.
