What Does Congress Need To Focus On In 2010: Tell Me What You Think

Statement

Date: Jan. 1, 2010

It's hard to believe it's already 2010. Many of us are anxious for the possibilities this new year will bring because many of us found 2009 to be a difficult and challenging year.

As a Member of Congress, I have heard from hardworking Arkansans and the issues they face to make ends meet. Washington needs to follow the example of those families who are tightening their belts during these difficult times and reigning in spending.

I believe that Congress has a responsibility to protect taxpayers and promote the government's long-term financial solvency. It is important for you to know what steps Washington is taking to meet that obligation and the major legislation under debate that will impact us all.

I am encouraged by the letters, phone calls and emails from many Arkansans that show more attention being paid to the policies under discussion in Washington. To stay informed about what is happening on Capitol Hill signup for my newsletter by clicking here.
