Heinrich Taco Language Signed Into Law By President Obama

Today, President Obama signed into law H.R. 2647, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010, which included language secured by U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich (NM-1) that prohibits the retirement of the 150th Fighter Wing from Kirtland Air Force Base until the United States Secretary of the Air Force has submitted a detailed plan that includes the identification and description of a follow up mission for the Fighter Wing (commonly referred to as the "Tacos").

"President Obama's signature on this bill marks the culmination of months of hard work to ensure the 150th Fighter Wing remains flying and that jobs remain intact," said Rep. Heinrich. "I will keep working so that the Tacos can continue their vital service to our nation."
