Van Hollen Statement On Passage Of The Energy And Water Appropriations Conference Report

Today Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) issued the following statement on final passage of the FY 2010 Energy and Water Appropriations Conference Report:

"In passing this bipartisan legislation today, we are making key investments that will drive American innovation, enhance our energy security, clean up our environment, reduce the threat of nuclear weapons, and support our water infrastructure.

"The conference report provides critical funding for energy research, energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, and priority infrastructure and conservation efforts. These investments will boost job creation and provide real solutions to our energy and water quality needs.

"I am particularly pleased with the inclusion of over $3 million for specific Chesapeake Bay restoration initiatives of particular importance to my Congressional District and the rest of the Chesapeake Bay watershed."
