Lummis Votes To Cut Off Funding For ACORN

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., issued the following statement after her vote to cut off federal funding for ACORN:

"Taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund an organization that has seriously violated federal laws," Lummis said. "I am pleased the House today voted to cut off federal funding for ACORN, and I join my colleagues in calling for a federal investigation of its activities."

The House vote was 345-75.

On Monday, the Senate voted 83-7 to deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
